Wartburg was a specific car brand within IFA and was manufactured by VEB Automobilwerk Eisenach in East Germany. The Wartburg cars were known for being robust and reliable. The most famous model was the Wartburg 353, which was produced for several decades until 1988.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany, Wartburg and other East German car brands underwent a transformation and modernization. However, production of Wartburg cars soon ceased.
